Ricky Zhou
Ricky Zhou, born in 2009, is a student engineer and pianist based in Irvine, California. Driven by a strong interest in mechanical engineering, he has served as a central contributor to a full-scale solar-powered vehicle project that earned national recognition in the Solar Car Challenge, and he continues to pursue further growth in the field. He particularly enjoys exploring how complex systems come together through thoughtful analysis, iterative refinement, and hands-on fabrication. He approaches his work with focus and responsibility, characterized by careful attention to detail and an awareness of overall system performance.
In parallel with his engineering pursuits, Ricky is an accomplished pianist who has won numerous competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2026. He regards music and engineering as complementary disciplines, each grounded in organization, patience, and clarity of thought. Together, they provide meaningful avenues for both creative expression and precise thinking. Looking ahead, Ricky aims to continue furthering his work in mechanical engineering while remaining actively engaged in advanced musical study and contributing to broader social impact.
